01/11 Brainstorming: Breaking Free of the Blocks and Creating Content with Kim Keeline
Start the new year off by breaking free of the blocks that keep you from writing!
This workshop will be hands-on writing time using some different tools, which will work for writers of fiction and nonfiction alike. They are all designed to make you create lots of content without critiquing yourself, and to look at topics or plots in new ways. Bring some ideas (or just a feeling of being stuck but wanting to write!) and paper/pen/computer and be prepared to learn some fun techniques for free-writing and breaking through blocks that should help you anywhere in your writing process.
Kim Keeline is a college teacher of 15 years who then went on to be a writer, web designer, and marketing professional. She was once hired by a military contractor for a year to make PowerPoint slides for presentations which were presented to high-level officials in Washington, D.C. In addition, she has presented at numerous academic conferences, as well as local venues like retirement homes, on a wide range of topics. She is also the Media, Marketing, and Communications Coordinator here at SDWI, so you may see her around at events–come say hi!
