This two-hour course will help genre writers craft moody dialog for stories of crime, mystery, and mayhem. We’ll also discuss strategies for integrating captured speech into stories-in-progress. Helpful for those looking to craft and revise realistic dialog. Bring writing materials for the workshop portion of class; samples of successful dialog will be provided by the instructor.

Philllips_Matt-150x150Matt Phillips lives in Normal Heights. His books are Three Kinds of Fool, Bad Luck City, Redbone, and the forthcoming Accidental Outlaws On Purpose. He has published crime stories across the web at Shotgun Honey, Near to the Knuckle, Out of the Gutter, Fried Chicken and Coffee, and Manslaughter Review. He received his MFA in creative writing from the University of Texas-El Paso.
