08/31 Comic Book Adaptation with Ajani Brown
LOVE comics? Here’s your chance to turn one of your stories into one!
Bring your prose characters to life in comic book form. This class will focus its efforts on expressing the visual elements of each participant’s short story. Sequential art storytelling allows writers to create a new experience for their readers, literally showing the world that they have built. Using scriptwriting styles influenced by Marvel and DC Comics, students will learn the various formatting aspects of comic book writing.
Ajani Brown holds a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from San Diego State University. In addition to writing, he teaches English, Composition and English as a Second Language. He is a member of the online science fiction and fantasy writers’ workshop (sff.onlinewritingworkshop.com) and is a regular at regional writer’s conferences and comic book conventions.
