Using selected poems from Anne Sexton’s seminal collection Love Poems and from Sharon Olds’ Pulitzer Prize-winning collection Stag’s Leap, this workshop will focus on creating resonant narrative poetry.

Workshop participants will be asked to experiment with language, voice, and entry points, as well as sound, line breaks, and patterning. Once enrolled, students will receive a themed writing assignment that will be “due” the day of the workshop.

All handouts will be provided by the instructor. Students should bring a notebook for quick writing exercises and note-taking.
