Felicia Morgenstern ~ a globe-trotting, award-winning artist, author & educator ~ performs in a variety of venues stretching from Baltimore to Buenos Aires. She is recipient of The Maryland State Arts Council’s Individual Artist Award in Poetry and has served as Writer-in-Residence ~ as well as Artist-in-Residence ~ for a variety of museums, universities, art institutes, literacy centers, public schools, and other organizations.

002 (2)The Night Mother Earth Told Father Sky She was Tired of the Missionary Position, Felicia’s debut literary collection, was hailed “stunning,” “lucid” & “lyrical” by critics of  The Washington Post, The Miami Herald, & The Boston Globe.

In addition to literary journals and anthologies, Felicia has recently appeared in The Wall Street Journal, Glamour, More and San Diego News Network.

Felicia also creates and conducts hands-on art workshops at culturally diverse community centers, museums and galleries on both coasts. She is also founder of the Studio Segundo design line, for which she creates eco-friendly artisan jewelry and interior design concepts.  Felicia often up-cycles salvaged, vintage items and repurposes them into objects of beauty & intrigue.  An antique fire extinguisher becomes a glass-topped table.  A vintage game board, foreign coin, and hardback book jacket magically transform into “creative couture.”

Traveling the world as an artist and educator has instilled Felicia with a global perspective. Her literary & visual works are colorful mosaics of various landscapes, cultures and customs. Felicia’s visual art, flash fiction, poetry, and prose transport and transform the audience. Ultimately, her literary and visual art illustrates a knowledge and understanding of the unique worlds we inhabit and the intimate connections between them.
