Novel IV: Plot & Structure: While your characters are the beating heart of your novel, your plot is its bones.

Whether you are an outliner or someone who works on the fly, this basic architecture (the novel’s skeleton, so to speak) cannot be neglected.

In this six week workshop, we will work on understanding the essential plot requirements of a good story, and work on building a good strong supporting structure for your novel.

Tammy GreenwoodT. Greenwood is the author of eight novels. She has received grants from the Sherwood Anderson Foundation, the Christopher Isherwood Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, and, most recently, the Maryland State Arts Council. TWO RIVERS was named Best General Fiction Book at the San Diego Book Awards in 2009, and GRACE won the same award in 2012. Five of her novels have been BookSense76/IndieBound picks. Her eighth novel, BODIES OF WATER, was released this fall.

She teaches creative writing at for San Diego Writers, Ink and online for The Writer’s Center in Bethesda, MD. She and her husband, Patrick, live in San Diego, CA with their two daughters. She is also an aspiring photographer.
