Middle grade writing is the most difficult voice to get right. Plus, not only do you have to please the kid readers, you have to make their teachers, parents, and librarians happy, too!

Learn how to write for grades 4 -8 in this class. We’ll also discuss your idea and what age group it should fall into.

Margaret Dilloway is the author of the middle grade fantasy novels Momotaro: Xander and the Lost Island of Monsters and Xander and the Dream Thief (Disney-Hyperion); and the women’s fiction novels How to be an American Housewife, The Care and Handling of Roses with Thorns, and Sisters of Heart and Snow. An upcoming realistic middle grade novel, Summer of a Thousand Pies, will be published by Balzer + Bray in early 2019. She is the winner of the Asian/Pacific American Librarians Association Honor Award for Children’s Literature and the ALA Literary Tastes Award for Best Women’s Fiction.
