So you’ve finished writing (and revising) your novel — what next? In this one day workshop, participants will learn about how to craft the ever-important query letter as well as how (and where) to submit it.

We will discuss how to write a great hook, a captivating and concise summary, and how to pen your bio. We will also look at the various resources to help you research agents and editors as well as the etiquette of the submission process.

This class is held on Sunday Dec 17 and on Saturday January 6.  Choose the date that is most convenient for you.

She has received grants from the Sherwood Anderson Foundation, the Christopher Isherwood Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, and, most recently, the Maryland State Arts Council. TWO RIVERS was named Best General Fiction Book at the San Diego Book Awards in 2009, and GRACE won the same award in 2012. Five of her novels have been BookSense76/IndieBound picks. Her eighth novel, BODIES OF WATER, was released last fall.

She teaches creative writing at for San Diego Writers, Ink and online for The Writer’s Center in Bethesda, MD. She and her husband, Patrick, live in San Diego, CA with their two daughters. She is also an aspiring photographer.
