Blazing Laptops Write-a-thon 2012 is our annual fundraising event for your favorite literary nonprofit: San Diego Writers, Ink. It’s a time to get together to write, raise money for a good cause, write, enjoy time with other writers, and WRITE.
Everyone is invited to participate. Minimum sponsorship is $100 in pledges which can come in all amounts, $5.00 to $500 or more. You can even sponsor yourself. Please register here. Your personal information will be stored securely and we’ll never share it, rent it, or sell it.
Want to donate?
Know someone who’s participating? Or want to find out who is? Here’s a handy list of folks who have already signed up. Any one of them would very much appreciate your support. Does your company have a matching gifts program? Double your contribution with our Federal tax ID number: #20-1202924.
The Write-a-thon will take place at Lestat’s Coffee House, a long-time supporter of San Diego Writers, Ink. Their beautiful room is an open and generous space with various configurations of large and small tables and chairs, sofas, lounges and easy chairs so you’ll be able to move around comfortably. But if you need a wrist-rest or foot stool or a portable footsie-wootsie, you’ll have to bring your own.
Food & Refreshments
We’ll treat you to your first cup of coffee and a morning pastry. Other food and refreshments will be available throughout the day, but it’ll be your treat. Lestat’s has great coffee and a wide variety of snacks and other goodies. We’ll take a break for lunch, which you’ll be able to order ahead of time at a special Write-a-thon rate. We know you’ll appreciate that all the money you worked so hard to raise will go directly to support San Diego Writers, Ink. Lestat’s is generously donating use of the venue, and we want to support them right back. Please don’t bring food or drink from outside Lestat’s to the event.
We know some writers like to work in their pajamas, but for Blazing Laptops, maybe something a little more along the line of public attire would be appropriate. Be comfortable. The afternoon will probably turn warm and with all of us writers cranking out the energy, the room may heat up.
