10/21 E.A. Poe Memorial Benefit and Wake

7-8:30pm

Take your photo with Poe, enter the “Rue Morgue” to join the “Drop Dead Eulogy and Epitaph Writing Workshop” and the “House of Usher” for the “Mask of the Red Death” craft center,  Ouija board, Magic 8 ball station, and other activities (some activities may have $5 material fee, such as masks).  Tarot Readings and Tasseography (the art of reading coffee grounds) available for $5 donation.  Food and drink at the “Cask of Amontillado” will make the evening festive.

Raffle tickets will be available throughout the evening and throughout the event from roaming raffle ticket sellers. Cost: $1/ea or 6/$5 or “length of your arm”/$20. and “length of both arms”/$35.

WRITE OUT LOUD performances of Poe and other spooky tales.

7:15-9pm

Scary-oke competition:  singing of themed songs encouraged.

9-10pm

Costume Contest. All participants are invited to come to the party in costume. The Costume Contest will be in the form of a parade with choice by applause of the audience.

Drop Dead Eulogy and Epitaph Open Mic. Participants are invited to read the Eulogy or Epitaph they wrote in “The Rue Morgue.” Prose or Poe-try. One minute time. JUDY REEEVES will emcee.

Scary-oke Winner Performance. Those judged “best of show” in the earlier Scary-oke performances will be asked to perform for the audience.

Raffle. Raffle tickets drawn at end of night
