San Diego Writer’s, Ink is looking for a new Executive Director. Do you or anyone you know fit the bill? Here’s a downloadable job description.

Title: Executive Director

Type: Part-time, salaried

Reports to: Board of Directors

Job Description: The new Executive Director will develop and implement strategies for funding current and future programs, work with staff and volunteers to oversee SDWI’s literary programs, develop organizational and administrative policies and program objectives, develop an annual operating budget, and serve as the primary contact for the SDWI physical site. The Executive Director must cultivate corporate and individual donor bases, develop fundraising materials and activities, will oversee grant applications and maintain the grant submission calendar, and work with staff on membership development. In addition, the ED must develop relationships and act as liaison with other arts and culture, and community groups, serve as spokesperson for San Diego Writers, Ink, representing and advocating for the organization, and represent SDWI at collaborative events and other arts events.

Qualifications: The Board is looking for a candidate with skills in program, financial, facilities, and human resource management, who has experience with fundraising and managing a nonprofit organization. Ideally, the Executive Director is outgoing, connected to the local cultural community, organized and systems-oriented, articulate, optimistic but practical, and understands the need to achieve multiple bottom lines, while getting the job done.
