Learn the ins and outs of editing during this one-day workshop!
Accomplished editor Jennifer Silva Redmond will explain and demonstrate different types of editing. Learn what a content edit is, what a line edit is, and what exactly a copyeditor does. Whether you are reworking a project, cleaning up a finished book for submission, or planning on self-publication–this workshop is for you. You’ll also learn whether you need an editor–and how to work with one if you do. Bring a sample of your writing, and come prepared for some “hands on” editing.
Long-time editor-in-chief and acquisitions editor at award-winning Sunbelt Publications, Jennifer Silva Redmond is now a publishing consultant and editor, as well as a popular instructor and speaker. Her essays, articles, and fiction have been published in anthologies, magazines, and books; she teaches at the Southern California Writers Conference, San Diego Writers, Ink, was prose editor for A Year in Ink vol 3, and co-founder of the critically acclaimed “Sea of Cortez Review.” Her latest role is independent film producer at WorkWithMeFilms; the original screenplay “El Camino” (her third script co-written with husband Russel Redmond) is in pre-production. She is always looking for “great new stuff” and has a wide circle of agents, editors, and publishers with whom to share marketable fiction and non-fiction.
