SDW, Ink Volunteer Position
Ink Spot Site Assistants

This position entails opening and closing The Ink Spot for events, setting up for workshops, assisting workshop leaders and helping to host literary events at The Ink Spot and at other venues — all under the fine leadership of the Ink Spot Site Manager.

Hours per Week: 1-4, depending on use of The Ink Spot and assignments accepted

Days/Times: Varies, depending on use of space and assignments accepted

Length of Agreement: Preferably indefinitely, but minimum one year

Description:

  • Responsible for Opening/Closing of Ink Spot
  • Setting up/taking down space for workshops, readings, and other events
  • Checking in workshop participants, assisting workshop leader in set-up

Requirements:

  • Likes to be a part of exciting literary events
  • Enjoys following the leader (Site Manager) but can also work independently
  • Physically able to move tables and chairs, set up/take down folding chairs
  • Can help arrange refreshment tables, book sales tables, mic stand and speakers
  • Friendly and easy-does-it attitude, plays well with others
  • Likes to help orchestrate a smooth running, well-organized art space
  • Takes pride in the gracious appearance of SDWI’s literary club house

Reporting To:

Ink Spot Site Manager and/or Volunteer Coordinator
