SDW, Ink Volunteer Position
Ink Spot Site Manager
This is a vital position for an individual who will serve as the “key master” for the physical home of San Diego Writers, Ink. This volunteer will be responsible for opening and closing The Ink Spot for events, for setting up for workshops and other events, for ensuring The Ink Spot is well maintained and well supplied, and for coordinating use of the space and the transference of keys as needed.
Hours per Week: 2 - 4, depending on the week’s classes and events at The Ink Spot
Days/Times: Varies, depending on use of space
Length of Agreement: Preferably indefinitely, but minimum one year
Description:
- Responsible for Opening/Closing of Ink Spot, either personally or through assignment of site or workshop assistants, or through delegation of keys
- Coordination with cleaning person for payment (to be reimbursed), and for maintaining cleaning supplies
- Maintaining bottled water supply and handling money in bottled water donation box (to purchase water and other supplies)
- General site organization and maintenance
- Communication with non-SDWI individuals or organization who request use of space and coordinating opening/closing/keys
- Checking lobby mailbox and dispersing mail (generally junk mail)
Requirements:
- Responsible, dependable, self-starter
- Relatively easy access to site location
- Flexible schedule
- Likes to orchestrate a smooth running, well-organized art space
- Takes pride in the gracious appearance of SDWI’s literary club house

Executive Director
Salary and Benefits:
No monetary compensation whatsoever. Benefits include the accolades of writers and artists who appreciate the warmth and graciousness of The Ink Spot and playing host to those who visit the space; good karma.
