Custom Classes for Businesses or Groups

Want a writing class for your group or business but don’t see the right class coming up on our schedule?

We offer the ability to have a custom class just for your group.

In general, we ask that you have at least FOUR students minimum for a class.  Price will depend on how customized you need the class to be.

Contact Kristen at programs@sandiegowriters.org and she will get  your information, talk to the instructor, and then quote you a price.  Be prepared with information like how many students you will have, topics you want covered, and any time requirements you might have.

Generally, we charge $18/hour per student for custom classes but some classes may run more.

Some custom writing classes we have already run for businesses:

Blogging for Business with Kim Keeline

This four hour course evaluated the client’s current blogging structure, led the group through a brainstorming session and provides analysis of the best practices for blog writing, SEO, and social media promotion.

Screenwriting for Business with Marni Freedman

This course was a team building exercise where Marni led the business in all the information they needed to write a screenplay and led them through writing exercises to enhance their creativity and help them discover story and its power.

Any category of writing we currently cover could be fair game for a custom class, so ask us about it:

  • fiction
  • nonfiction
  • screenwriting
  • memoir
  • poetry
  • craft topics
  • journaling
  • creativity exercises
  • goal setting
  • brainstorming techniques
  • blogging
  • marketing
  • social media
  • podcasting
  • and so many other writing topics!

TESTIMONIAL:
agentology

We thoroughly enjoyed our session with San Diego Writers, Ink. Our team reached out looking to get a refresher on business blogging techniques. Our session was awesome and very interactive. We were able to not only get more information on blogging but, Kim who was our teacher that day also had a lot of great experience in marketing.

Kim challenged us to think outside the box and step out of our comfort zone when thinking about blogging and business writing. We were able to come away with some great new techniques and strategies. It was also great to get an outside perspective on our marketing efforts!

We highly recommend the classes at San Diego Writers, Ink for individuals or businesses looking to take their writing to the next level.
