What is Blazing Laptops?
Blazing Laptops Write-a-thon 2013 is our annual fundraising event for your favorite literary nonprofit: San Diego Writers, Ink. It’s a time to get together to write, raise money for a good cause, write, enjoy time with other writers, and WRITE.
Registration
Everyone is invited to participate. Minimum sponsorship is $100 in pledges which can come in all amounts, $5.00 to $500 or more. You can even sponsor yourself. Register here. Your personal information will be stored securely and we’ll never share it, rent it, or sell it.
Want to donate?
Know someone who’s participating? Or want to find out who is? Here’s a list of people participating–you can pledge a donation to them. Any one of them would very much appreciate your support. As extra incentive to give, anyone who donates $150 or more to San Diego Writers, Ink (donation can be distributed to multiple writers) will be added to the invite list of a celebration party.
The Venue
The Write-a-thon will take place in Liberty Station / NTC–the exact building TBA (yes, we know–we’ll announce soon!). If you need a wrist-rest or foot stool or a portable footsie-wootsie, you’ll have to bring your own.
Food & Refreshments
At our Liberty Station/NTC location, we’ll provide snacks (candy, nuts, and the like) and beverages (coffee, tea, water) to keep you going. As for lunch, we’ll provide a menu for you to place your pre-order of food from Con Pane, a neighbor in the Liberty Station/NTC area. We’ll take your orders and payment well in advance of Write-a-thon day (June 9), insuring that you get your meal at lunch break without having to worry about waiting in a line to order and pay. If you have specific needs for snacks, bring them along.
Attire
We know some writers like to work in their pajamas, but for Blazing Laptops, maybe something a little more along the line of public attire would be appropriate. Be comfortable. The afternoon will probably turn warm and with all of us writers cranking out the energy, the room may heat up.
