San Diego Writers, Ink and The San Diego Art Institute present the 4th annual Authors & Art in the Park, an Official Event of San Diego LGBT Pride. This year, we'll feature readings by San Diego writers Fergal O’Doherty and Rob Williams and poet and performance artist Kimberly Dark.
Enjoy a beautiful morning in the park as the event kicks off with a champagne reception featuring mimosas, fresh fruit, and Starbucks coffee & pastries. Before our readers take the stage, enjoy the museum’s exhibition work by Glen Maxion and Suzanne LaJoie. Visit The San Diego Art Institute online.
You can support this great literary event by becoming a Champagne Sponsor. Clicquot here to find out how.

This event is supported by Poets & Writers, Inc. through a grant it has received from
The James Irvine Foundation.
Kimberly Dark's writing and performances have delighted and incited audiences at theaters and universities across North America and Europe for more than a decade. Her work blends humor, poetry, story-telling, and audience interaction to remind all of us that we are creating the world - even as it creates us! Kimberly's new CD, "Location is Everything," contains tracks from her much-requested performance, "Stripped and Teased," and other recordings of spoken word, poetry and stories. Kimberly's first CD is "You Are My Singing Lesson." Both CDs will be available at the event. You can also find a calendar of her upcoming appearances, and additional information, pictures, videos and more at her website: kimberlydark.com
Fergal O'Doherty born with shamelessly bad timing, in the midst of his sister’s seventh birthday party in Derry City, Northern Ireland. Young girls reportedly ran from his house in their party dresses screaming, “Mrs. O’Doherty’s having a baby on the living room sofa next to Moira’s birthday cake before I could even get a slice.”
Educated and rigorously disciplined at the following institutions: Saint Eugene’s Convent School, Francis Street Derry, more commonly known as “The Wee Nuns” school, not because the nuns who taught were midgets, but because is was the smaller of the two adjoining schools taught by the same teaching order. (Sisters of Nazareth - disciplined with laser beam eyes and spontaneous smacks on the back of the head). Christian Brothers School, Bogside, Derry (Congregatio Fratrum Christianorum “The Congregation of Christian Brothers” –these guys made no bones about harsh corporal discipline). St. Columb’s College, Derry (Diocesan Priests – used only verbal humiliation).
