Bassemah Darwish was born in Kuwait after her parents left their native Palestine. She studied Lit/Writing at UCSD before a career choice moved her to teach at San Diego’s inner-city high school campuses where she also coaches creative writing workshops for young writers. She has also lived a year in Palestine where she taught descriptive and narrative writing at Palestine’s Birzeit University.
