Jennifer Simpson is an online marketing guru for internet based Arc-Zone.com,
Inc. where she writes technical articles for trade journals, press releases and website content including the CarmenElectrode.com blog. As editor for her boss' blog, JoeWelder.com, she gets to pull out her
big red pen.
For fun, Jennifer maintains a personal blog (www.akaJesais.com), takes
writing workshops and is a regular at First Friday. Her 3 minute piece "Letters from Heaven" was selected for inclusion on the first First Friday CD. She is working on a memoir, Reconstructing My Mother, chronicling her journey to get to know her mother who passed away when Jennifer was 13. Set against the backdrop of turning 40 and watching her only sister battle cancer, ultimately the book is about Jennifer getting to know herself.
When Judy first told me about the blazing laptops, my first thought was "What are you kidding me? 10 hours straight of writing? That's all day!" Actually, I think I said that out loud.
I decided to participate because San Diego Writers Ink has meant a lot to me in terms of workshop offerings, special events and time with my tribe. By committing to the Write-A-Thon, I can give back in a way that will let other people know how important this organization is to emerging writers like me.
