First Friday has changed its name to Dime Stories Live – and a new public radio show is in the works (more info soon!). Dime Stories open mic event is still held on the first Friday of each month. Bring a maximum of 3 minutes of prose, and show the world what you’ve got! Recordings are posted on the web at www.DimeStories.org.

Amy Wallen is the author of Los Angeles Times bestselling novel, MoonPies and Movie Stars which will be released in paperback June 2008. Her third novel is to be published by Hyperion. She teaches novel writing courses at UCSD Extension, lead private workshops and does individual coaching. Amy is an advisory board member for San Diego Writers, Ink and the host of Dime Stories Live monthly prose open-mic night.
