A Year In Ink, Vol. 6

YII COVER FINAL-frontcover-resizedA Year in Ink (YII) is an anthology of the creative work of San Diego County writers, published each year by San Diego Writers, Ink. The annual publication represents a sampling of the tangible results of our community’s diligent scribblers (see the Table of Contents below for the list!).

Volume 6  includes  short stories, novel and memoir excerpts, creative nonfiction, satire,  flash fiction, and poetry. Volume 6 authors are a diverse group, young and old, new writers and much-published veterans. Several have had work in previous anthologies, most have been published in other literary journals, but a few have the thrill of claiming this as their first publication.

SDWI receives numerous submissions each summer. At the close of the submission period, volunteer first readers evaluate submissions, which then go to the guest editors. A Year in Ink follows a blind submission process; authors are not identified until the selection process ends.

YII Volume 6 prose editor Anthony Bonds, author of The Moonflower King, earned his MFA in fiction from San Diego State University.  He has worked as an editor and designer in publishing since 2008.

YII Volume 6 poetry editor Michael Klam directs the Poetry & Art Series at the San Diego Art Institute’s Museum of theLiving Artist (MOLA) in Balboa Park. His freelance work includes articles and features for San Diego CityBeat, San Diego Source / The Daily Transcript, and La Prensa SanDiego.  His book of poetry, Emma and the Buddha Frog, was a San Diego Book Awards finalist in 2008.
