Revising Your Novel
So maybe you wrote a book during National Novel Writing Month last November, or maybe you wrote a novel and shoved it in a drawer ten years ago. Either way, you’ve got a big messy draft and you are ready to revisit it, to revise it.
But what do published novelists do between that raw first draft and the polished final manuscript? The key lies in identifying the novel’s strengths and weaknesses, coming up with a revision plan, and implementing all the necessary changes. If you have completed the first draft of a novel, this workshop will give you the tools you need to ready your novel for submission.
T. Greenwood is the author of six novels, including Two Rivers, The Hungry Season, and This Glittering World. Her seventh novel, Grace, will be published in April of 2012. She has received grants from the Sherwood Anderson Foundation, the Christopher Isherwood Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Maryland State Arts Council. She lives with her husband and their two daughters in San Diego, where she is also an aspiring photographer. Her photos will be exhibited at The Ink Spot Gallery in November/December.
