The Radvocate Zine Issue #2 Party and Reading

Date: Saturday, August 27 Time: 5-7 p.m. Number of sessions: 1 - Event! Members: FREE! Nonmembers: FREE! Location: The Inkspot, 710 13th St, Ste 210, San Diego, CA 92101

Last year SDWInk had its first-ever Zine* Workshop. One of the participants, Matt Lewis, soon created his own Zine, The Radvocate. Join us on August 27th as we celebrate the publication of The Radvocate Issue 2!

*Zine /zēn/

1. Noun: A magazine, esp. a fanzine.  2. a noncommercial often homemade or online publication usually devoted to specialized and often unconventional subject matter <a punk zine, a cartoon zine>.

What is The Radvocate? It is you. If you have stories, rants, artwork, or opinions, or anything else, submit it to us. The best ones will be picked by the editors and printed in our issues, which are released every few months or so (whenever we get enough content). Think this is a stupid idea? Stretch it out to 500 words and send it in. Take the chance to express yourself and be heard!

What do you get out of it? A chance to be published and share your work in an un-sponsored, unbiased environment. You don’t have to be a professional to write, draw, or send hate mail to us. Just be honest, be funny, draw something cool or interesting. Your personal work could be gold, but without anywhere to display it, who would ever know?

Come out and support local publishing and hear some great writing! Copies of the zine will be available at the event.

Issue 2 readers include: Chad Deal, Heidi Raynowska, and Matt Lewis.
